Job Title: Co-owner/Brewer
Hometown: Born in Tacoma, WA; grew up in Topton, PA. The U.S. Navy transferred me to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 1992 and l have lived in Western Branch ever since.
Favorite beer style: I really enjoy the complexity of a well brewed stout.
If you could have a beer with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?: My dad, “Kricky”. His favorite was Olde Brick Alt from the Kutztown Tavern.
Favorite food and beer pairing: Is there anything better than grilled or smoked meat and a pint?
Favorite recipe to brew: Route 58 Porter. It smells amazing in the brewery as we mash in.
Most rewarding beer: Enjoying a creek cooled Trail Angel Hefeweizen after a long hard day of backpacking a section of the Appalachian Trail with friends.
Anything else?: As a kid growing up, I was an avid beer can collector. I also have fond memories of visiting the Yuengling and Schafer breweries with my grandpa and dad. In both my time in the Navy and my time as a medical device representative, I’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to experience local food and craft beer scenes all around the country.
